Much of it is inaccessible. When the water is dirty or contaminated, it becomes a threat. Every day, 4,000 children die from waterborne diseases.
That is the reason why Giorgio Armani, works closely with the NGO Green Cross International to achieve change and raise awareness around the world on this issue.
The aim of Acqua For Life is providing tens of millions of gallons of potable water to populations without access to it. 900 million people still lack safe water, clean and healthy for their basic daily needs. Water is essential to drink, eat, to ensure minimum health and maintain the health of everyone. The aim of this challenge this year to provide 40 million gallons of potable water at least to those in need.
Because they are the most vulnerable to waterborne diseases and is their future that is threatened by the uncertain water supply, children are the primary beneficiaries of campaign donations collected by the "Acqua For Life" .
